AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there and was instrumental in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was then just 22 years old. older, was the youngest national player at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. Her 2012 ended with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments and also won the Silver Boot in 2019.
